We mainly model in plaster using a lathe or a powered whirler producing various shapes and sizes.
Everything we do is bespoke to the client, we work from drawings and sketches to bring their ideas together to produce the finished mould, which they can manufacture the finished ceramic pieces. Another part of the modelling process is to hand model various pieces, for example, handles for mugs and cups or embossment for tiles, the list is endless.
Modelling in clay is a great medium to express your skills like modelling cat teapots, figurines of varying complexities, again the list goes on, which makes every day an interesting one!
Industrial ceramics is a big part of our business and again we have to model to quite tight tolerances for various industries, for example water filters, roofing tiles etc. including bringing experimental ideas to the market, again the list is a long one.
